Nick Roberson is a sculptor and stone carver working from Sale in Cheshire, near Manchester. He creates figurative sculptures, portraits, memorials and carved lettering, using marble, limestone and sandstone as well as bronze and terracotta. His commissions include work for individuals, councils, churches, charities, communities and universities. Alongside new sculpture, he undertakes restoration and carving for historic buildings, combining artistic modelling with specialist masonry skills. His training includes art studies in Eastbourne, a sculpture degree at Sheffield Polytechnic and stone masonry at Weymouth and Portland. The portfolio shows public and private work at different scales, with attention to how material, setting and the purpose of a commission influence the finished piece.
