Laivi is a fashion designer and artist based in Tallinn, Estonia, working through a namesake independent label. She designs and makes the garments herself, developing individual pieces with close attention to materials, construction and finishing. The studio operates largely on a made-to-order basis, allowing customers to discuss measurements and variations before a piece is produced. Items shown in the online collection can act as starting points for a personalised order rather than representing large quantities of ready-made stock. Different materials and details can be considered in that process. The approach is intended to limit excess production while keeping the designer directly involved from the concept through to the finished garment.
