Rachel Foxwell is a ceramic artist based in Frome, Somerset, whose practice also includes photography. Working mainly with porcelain, she builds restrained forms that place attention on the material and the way surface, shape and colour interact. Her slab-built pieces draw on a modernist approach to composition, combining abstract decoration with fine textural changes and graduated colour. Landscape and the shifting effects of light inform her interest in atmosphere and the appearance of natural places. After studying ceramics in Cardiff, she established her studio practice in 2005 and has exhibited in Britain and internationally. Her work is included in the Homo Faber guide, and she received the Prize of Ceramics in the Authentique International exhibition at Ceramic Art Andenne in Belgium in 2025.
