Viv Emma is a Sydney artist, illustrator and surface designer creating botanical artwork and repeating patterns for textiles, stationery and homewares. Flowers and Australian plants and wildlife supply her main subjects, developed into detailed, decorative compositions with an emphasis on colour and movement. She draws with pencil and ink fineliners and paints with watercolour and gouache, sometimes using her own photographs and sometimes imagining the flowers. Her process also considers the paper itself, choosing a smooth surface for fine drawn detail or a more textured sheet for watercolour. Existing artwork is available for licensing, and she welcomes collaborations with businesses of different sizes. Alongside the pattern portfolio, her shop offers locally produced giclée prints made with archival pigment inks on museum-grade cotton paper.
