Clare Martin is a surface pattern designer and illustrator working from a studio in Fremantle, Western Australia. Her artwork centres on food, flowers, animals and vintage-inspired motifs for textiles, homewares, stationery and gift products. Designs begin on paper with ink, nib pens, brushes and coloured pencils before being refined into repeat patterns and files ready for commercial production. Her practice includes collections for fabric and homewares, illustrations for products and packaging, and bespoke artwork for brand collaborations. The work has appeared on fabric, wallpaper, swimwear, games and home decor, demonstrating how her hand-drawn imagery adapts to different materials.
