CatCoq is the creative practice of Cat Coquillette, a location-independent artist and designer who makes artwork for licensed products. Her illustrations appear on home accessories, clothing, technology accessories and art prints through partnerships with consumer brands. Travel supplies much of her subject matter, with the places she visits feeding into a portfolio characterised by strong colour, expressive lettering and playful imagery. She combines painted marks with vector illustration, allowing her work to move between an original image and a range of manufactured applications. Her official site welcomes enquiries about custom work, licensing, wholesale and collaborations, while a separate teaching practice covers creative techniques and the business of art. She manages these activities while travelling rather than maintaining a single permanent studio location.
