Drew Perkins is a furniture designer and maker with his own workshop in Washington, DC. His interest in wood developed while working on wooden boats in New England, where he learned to value design, craftsmanship and carefully applied finishes. After leaving a career in law, he trained at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine. His design approach combines contemporary elements with traditional furniture forms, while his making emphasises joinery, durable construction and surfaces intended to invite touch. He continues to explore new and established techniques as he develops his furniture, with a selection of work presented through his own website.
