John Ros is a conceptual installation artist, curator and lecturer whose studio practice began in 1996. Their work moves between installation, light, performance and writing, using nearby, discarded or overlooked materials to create spaces for reflection and participation. Ritual, labour and shared time connect the studio work with their educational practice. They founded studioELL in London in 2015 as a platform for experimental studio-art education and lecture at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University and CT State Community College. They hold a BFA from SUNY Binghamton and an MFA from Brooklyn College, and their work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
