Mitsuko Nakagawa is a multimedia and textile artist originally from Tokyo whose practice connects hand-making with digital media. Her installations bring together light, sound and colour, particularly through the combination of textile structures and projection mapping. Earlier work used natural fibres and hand-felting, developed through a textile studio she ran in Tokyo for more than fifteen years. She holds an MFA in textile design from the Rochester Institute of Technology and subsequently expanded her work into media arts. Her portfolio includes installation documentation, textile pieces and drawings, exploring how an immersive environment can encourage sensory attention, reflection and moments of stillness.
