ESMEZ is the London-based ceramic design and production studio founded by Elif Esmez. Its work explores how ceramic objects can support more than one function, using simple forms to leave room for different uses and arrangements. Elif graduated with an Art and Design degree in 2009 and initially worked as a design editor in Istanbul before moving into product and graphic design. The studio's biography describes a decade focused on ceramic design and production, with an emphasis on extending the material into varied forms and purposes. Its published event history includes County Hall Pottery and London Design Festival presentations in 2024, alongside the ISTIF: Elevated Surfaces project at Melbourne Design Week in 2023. These projects sit within a practice centred on the possibilities of ceramic objects rather than a single fixed product type.
