David Leutert is a Berlin-based freelance illustrator and lettering artist working at the intersection of custom typography, bold illustration and visual storytelling. His style combines strong lines, dynamic letterforms, limited colour palettes and a recurring retro influence across advertising, music, fashion and editorial projects. Leutert has nearly two decades of professional experience and holds an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York as well as a BA in Design from Nuremberg Tech. His work has been recognised by the Society of Illustrators, ADC, TDC, American Illustration and Communication Arts. Alongside commissions, he studies traditional sign painting and co-hosts the illustration podcast Paid 2 Draw, extending his practice into craft research and discussion.
