Rachel Sanson is a children’s-book illustrator based in the Midlands of the UK. She studied illustration at the University of Lincoln and has built a publishing-focused practice around children’s fiction, character design and the imaginative worlds those characters inhabit. Her past work includes the Topsea middle-grade novels, the Tails from History educational series and the picture book The Lady of the Library. One title in the Tails from History series received a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection in 2019, adding formal recognition to a growing body of narrative work. Sanson has worked with a range of major publishers and continues to focus on illustrated fiction and educational publishing where expressive characters and story-led scenes are central.
