About
Dutchicon is an icon-design studio founded by Hemmo de Jonge, whose icon-library practice dates to 2010. It develops visual systems for applications, tools and platforms, focusing on how quickly a symbol's meaning can be recognised in context. The studio treats icons as part of a design system, considering nearby labels, layouts and the semantic conflicts that emerge as libraries grow. Its work extends across product screens, help materials, presentations and internal tools, with an emphasis on preserving meaning across different uses. Dutchicon also publishes articles on icon behaviour and offers the Gizmo, Wired, Raw and Pika collections, which range from open outline forms to solid interface symbols.
