Evan McDougall is a freelance industrial designer based in Vancouver, Canada. He creates products and experiences for businesses ranging from startups to large international companies. Professional experience in Canada, the United States and Sweden has helped shape an approach influenced by Scandinavian design. His process begins with understanding the user and the problem before developing functional, mechanically feasible product concepts. Industrial design is combined with colour, material and finish development, packaging and consideration of the wider user experience. His portfolio includes work for brands such as Toyota, IKEA, Bowers and Wilkins and Fitbit, demonstrating applications across different consumer product contexts.
