Inkshed Press is the independent printmaking and illustration practice of Mark Wilkinson, a British-born artist based on Vancouver Island in Canada. He specialises in hand-carved linocut, using its direct line, tactile process and restrained forms to develop original prints. Portraiture is a major part of his work, with collections organised around cinema, television, music, literature and other cultural subjects. His wider portfolio also includes wildlife, buildings and illustrated alphabets. Before moving into this practice, he spent twenty-two years in the military. Alongside his own print editions, he accepts illustration enquiries for book jackets, packaging, posters, identities and private commissions.
