Charlotte Baxter is a Welsh printmaker working from a home studio south of Aberystwyth. She draws on the changing relationship between land and water, using sketches, photographs and written observations to develop images that move between abstraction and recognisable landscape. Her processes include woodcut, linocut, etching and lithography, sometimes combined within the same print. Layers of translucent colour, natural wood grain and tool marks contribute directly to the finished surface. Earlier training in fashion design informs her interest in colour, texture and the behaviour of materials. She also takes part in exhibitions, offers workshops and welcomes enquiries about commissions, collaborations and studio visits.
