Tapbots is a three-person app studio with team members in North Texas and Canada, making utility software for iOS and Mac. The practice began in 2008 after Paul Haddad and Mark Jardine developed Weightbot and Convertbot alongside their earlier jobs, then moved into app-making full time. Jardine leads design, while Haddad and Todd Thomas are developers. The studio aims to make everyday utilities enjoyable to use, giving its products a robot-themed visual world inspired by the film Wall-E. Its portfolio includes the Pastebot clipboard utility, the Ivory Mastodon client and Calcbot, which combines calculation with unit conversion. The site also preserves Tweetbot as a memorial to its earlier Twitter application.
