Bjango is a self-funded software studio whose work combines Mac applications, interface-design tools and audio plug-ins. The practice began around March 2005 with two friends creating free Dashboard widgets, before moving into full applications with the release of iStat Menus in May 2007. Founder and designer Marc Edwards also publishes detailed articles on icon construction, colour management and other aspects of software design. Its product portfolio includes iStat Menus, the Skala interface-design tool in development and Pinwheel for design systems and accessibility testing. Pinwheel connects this research to practical workflows through colour editing, contrast checks and code generation, while the studio identifies privacy as a continuing concern.
