Charles Harter is an independent filmmaker and director from Manchester, working between Manchester and Bristol. His main interests are narrative film and documentary, particularly stories that address social issues and experiences within working-class communities. He works as a self-shooting director and takes on commissions and collaborations. His education includes film studies at Xaverian College and filmmaking studies at UWE Bristol, following a period spent seeking industry experience outside formal education. He aims to direct feature films that reflect his northern working-class background and prompt discussion among audiences. He also offers his services as a second assistant director, script supervisor or assistant in production and post-production.
