Joanne de Pace is a surface pattern designer based in Hampshire, creating illustrated designs for textiles, stationery and homeware. She studied illustration in New Zealand before working as a librarian and later returning to a design-led practice. Each design begins as a hand-drawn sketch, which is developed into colourful patterns and finished products. Her collections include tea towels, aprons, kitchen boards, coasters, wash bags, notebooks and greeting cards. Subjects range from marine life and vegetables to flowers and playful kitchen motifs. Through her own studio and shop, she connects original illustration with useful objects designed and made in the United Kingdom.
