Formagari is an independent type design practice in Marseille, founded in 2022 and run by Emmanuel Besse. It develops and publishes retail typefaces, drawing on vernacular lettering and reinterpreting historical references for a contemporary catalogue. Its commissioned services include new typographic families, adaptations of existing fonts, logo design, lettering and custom coding for brands, organisations and institutions. The official project archive documents a handwriting-inspired script for Delvaux, a two-style typeface and logo refinement for ba&sh, and a custom face for Tripel Karmeliet. Fully functional trial fonts allow designers to test complete character sets before licensing a family for commercial use.
