About
Jules Durand is a graphic and type designer based in Toulouse who has worked independently since 2018. His practice connects typography, publishing and visual storytelling, with drawing and discussion of cultural material informing the work. He collaborates with artists, musicians, filmmakers, game developers, festivals, institutions and brands on bespoke design projects. His approach to letterforms favours hybrid influences and creative recombination rather than strict reproduction of historical models. The portfolio includes typefaces, logotypes, stone carving and research into subjects such as Louis Jou and Letraset. Durand also participates in collective projects including Clusterduck, Narthex and Collletttivo, and has studied at the Atelier National de Recherche Typographique in Nancy.
