About
Mary Mamian is an independent Armenian-Belgian graphic designer based in Ghent. Her practice centres on books and printed matter, while also extending to identities, websites and objects. For publications, she works from cover design through interior grids, typography and image sequencing, collaborating with authors and publishers. A background in architecture informs her interest in how structure and space organise information. After training in-house at a publishing company, she moved into freelance projects and collaborations. Her portfolio also includes posters, campaigns, newspapers and zines, with attention to paper and ink as well as applications such as scarves, carpets, flags and stationery.
